The Jazz performer Nancy Wilson a three-time Grammy Award winner was born on February 20 1937 in Ohio, Chillicothe. She was the daughter of iron worker Olden Wilson and the former Lillian Ryan who worked as a housekeeper. Nancy is the youngest of six siblings. Within one month, she got a job singing at The Blue Morocco Night Club situated on Boston Road in The Bronx where Adderley's agent heard her, and she was signed. Agent Adderley signed her to Capitol in 1960. She made her debut that year. Guess Who I Saw today Capitol released 5 Nancy Wilson Albums in 2 years. She began by focusing on R&B, but under Adderley's influence, she started to take on jazz. Nancy Wilson, Cannonball Adderley and their 1962 collaboration made her a star. The singer had her breakout smash Tell Me the Truth by 1963. Following that year, she was invited to perform at New York's Coconut Grove, the most prestigious night club in America.
