Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that blends R&B with gospel, soul music, and R&B. Her career path has taken her across Broadway to European events and clubs, and even to her participation in the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta the place she was raised is Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church where she sang and played piano. She studied at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B styles of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You the House, came out only in Japan. The song has been remixed numerous times and is the mainstay in her live performance. The singer has also provided her voice for The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she became the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls show during Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to perform as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
