Aaliyah Haughton was famous in 1994, when she dropped her first album Age Ain't Nothing but an amount. The album came out as Gold at the age of fifteen years old. It was done as part of a group that was greatly in the style of R. Kelly and it put the singer in the limelight. In 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland made Aaliyah's album One In A Million. The album contained the single If Your Girls Only Knew, the single that was most popular. With the success of this album, Aaliyah gained international attention for her performance as an R&B performer. The year 2000 saw her appeared alongside the legendary martial artist Jet Li for the film Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, film producer and director of the movie Romeo Must Die caught her at an award ceremony. She was cast in the vampire film that was based on Anne Rice Queen of the Damned, which was released in 2002. The Matrix Sequels followed, with Zee as her character. While she started out with minor film and TV roles, her acting started growing in popularity around the turn of the century. Her other notable projects include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. In addition, she has appeared in important commercials of brands such as Volvo the world's largest auto maker. She lives in Los Angeles where she continues to perform as an actress.
